Changing my hair colour - Dark cherry red

Hey, I'm finishing high school soon and i was thinking about changing my hair colour. I have dark brown hair and i want to change it to a dark red, like the black cherry colour.

I am not sure if it will go with Indian skin though

Please advise, I do not want to make myself look stupid
